Volvo Advertisement Campaign Assessment

Client Context

As part of a design assessment for Honest Digital, an agency specializing in automotive advertising, I was tasked with creating a series of digital display ads for Volvo. The goal was to demonstrate strong brand alignment, adaptability across formats, and a refined visual execution true to Volvo’s Scandinavian minimalism.

Develop a cohesive ad suite that highlights Volvo’s brand values—safety, freedom, premium quality, and modern minimalism—while ensuring usability and consistency across desktop, mobile, and social platforms.

✦ Design Approach

Brand Research: Referenced Volvo’s Global Newsroom, official brand library, and existing dealership campaigns (Volvo Ireland, Canton, and Manhattan) to ensure accuracy and authenticity.

  1. Typography & Hierarchy: Center-aligned, bold type treatments emphasized key messaging and numbers while supporting copy was kept understated for clarity.

  2. Visual Language: Scenic lifestyle imagery reinforced Volvo’s themes of freedom, travel, and aspiration, paired with gradients for legibility without compromising imagery.

  3. Scandinavian Minimalism: Clean layouts, balanced negative space, and understated CTAs (e.g., Discover More) created a refined, premium look.
